OVERVIEW:
Founded and operated Moonpath Digital, a marketing platform built to give small nonprofits access to professional-quality design and strategy without agency-level budgets, through Canva templates, free resources, and marketing consulting.
AT A GLANCE:
Built and ran the business for one year, from concept through 20 template collections and packs, an optimized Etsy shop, a content-driven blog, and a full client consulting process. Grew Pinterest to 17.4k monthly views in two months of consistent posting.
The Challenge
Small nonprofits often can’t afford an agency or a full-time designer, but their work deserves to be told as well as any well-funded organization’s. I started Moonpath to close that gap, giving under-resourced organizations access to strategic, professional design so their stories could be seen and amplified in their best light, not held back by budget or time.
My Approach
I treated Moonpath like a real product business from the start, not a side hustle. That meant building a full system: a standardized product line, a content strategy to reach the right audience, and a client process polished enough to run without me having to reinvent it for every new client.
I organized the product catalog into Collections (8 full collections and 8 mini collections, each with a Success Kit), and Packs (4 smaller template packs), so the offer was easy to understand and easy to shop. I optimized every Etsy listing against current SEO best practices, tags, titles, and positioning built to actually get found, not just look good. And I built the entire consulting process from the ground up, including an intake questionnaire, branded session materials, contracts, scheduling, and project management, so a client’s experience felt considered at every step, not improvised.
The Work
Templates + Etsy Shop: Designed 20 template collections and packs across email marketing and social media, including three styled Giving Tuesday collections (Bold, Warm, Professional, 25 templates each) built to give nonprofits campaign-ready assets without starting from a blank page. Twenty active listings on Etsy, each optimized with a 13-tag SEO strategy and consistent title conventions.
Pinterest: Grew Moonpath’s Pinterest presence to 17.4k monthly views in just two months of consistent posting. My highest-performing pins were the templates themselves, proof that the design work resonated the moment people actually saw it.
Blog + Content: Wrote and maintained a blog for nonprofit marketers, with a full content calendar tracking SEO metadata, Pinterest performance, and search rankings for every post, treating content as a real growth channel, not an afterthought.
Consulting: Built a complete client process for one-on-one marketing and design consulting, from a 24-question discovery questionnaire through a branded strategy deliverable, contract, and project tracking, so every client engagement felt like working with an established studio.
What I Learned
The Pinterest growth told me the design and positioning were working. People were finding the templates, engaging with them, and clearly responding to the quality. What it also told me was that Etsy wasn’t the easiest platform for turning that interest into sales, since only one purchase came through despite strong pin performance. That gap between high interest and low conversion taught me more about audience and platform fit than a clean win would have. It’s a big part of why I’m thinking differently about distribution for whatever I build next.
After this short year, I’m proud of what Moonpath became and everything it did for the organizations that found value in it. The business is currently on a short pause, but I’m looking forward to the next phase. 2027, watch out!
